AG Retreats was created from a shared vision between facilitators Alyssa and Gudrun: to offer spaces where people can step away from the noise of daily life and reconnect with the quiet truth within themselves.
Our retreats are not about escape — they are about return.
Return to your breath.
Return to your body.
Return to the inner voice that often gets drowned out by responsibility, distraction, and the constant pace of modern life.
Our Purpose
The purpose of our retreats is to create space — physically, emotionally, and mentally — so participants can hear themselves more clearly. Through daily movement practices, guided self-inquiry, meditation, and meaningful group connection, we help people peel back the layers of stress, expectation, and old patterns. When those layers soften, what often emerges is a deeper sense of self-trust, courage, and aliveness.
Our retreats are for individuals who feel there is “more” available to them in life — more clarity, more presence, more connection — and who are ready to explore that in a supportive and intentional environment.
Our approach is both gentle and courageous. We create a space that feels safe and welcoming, while also encouraging honest self-reflection and personal growth. Many participants leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more deeply connected to themselves and others.
Both Alyssa and Gudrun have experienced firsthand the power of stepping away from routine and entering a supportive, intentional environment. Again and again, they witnessed how transformative it can be when people are given time, tools, and community to slow down and listen inward.
AG Retreats was born from the belief that growth doesn’t have to be harsh or overwhelming. It can be grounded, warm, and even joyful. We believe in strength and softness coexisting — in building resilience while staying open-hearted.
Alyssa has been teaching since 2016 and was first introduced to yoga when she was 12-years old. Influenced by different yoga styles over years of practicing, she gravitated to the Vinyasa & Power traditions that allow for creativity, challenge and flow.
Her intention is to keep her classes balanced, lighthearted and real. She loves to sprinkle in moments of humor and connection with others throughout class. Alyssa's focus is on her students as they are truly the best teachers and she has found a sense of deeper connection through the yoga practice and community.
Yoga helps Alyssa to be her most authentic, empowered self and she is honored to share the teachings and tools from this incredible practice to help others do the same.
Gudrun is a 500 hour certified yoga teacher (RYT) and has been teaching yoga for over a decade. Throughout the years she trained in several different yoga styles but when she stumbled into her first Baptiste yoga class something shifted both physically and mentally. Gudrun sensed a peace of mind like never before where her breath and movement became one. This practice has had such a deep impact on her life that she wants nothing more than to share it with as many people as she can.
When she teaches, Gudrun feel like anything is possible and together we can make amazing things happen. She has had the experience of teaching across continents and has discovered that this practice does not ask of gender, race, where you are from or how strong, bendy or flexible you are - it speaks the language of we are all human and we are all connected.
Gudrun's belief is that life can be serious enough, so you don't have to take yourself seriously on your mat too; be playful every time you practice and allow yourself to be a little bit messy in your journey. Coming from Iceland, the land of "Fire and Ice" you can be sure that she will bring some fire into the practice.
